I'm verifying by the LDS Microfilm the Early Marriages of Talbot County. Since I'm doing these in chronological order, and also adding the name of the official who married the couple, I hope you will find this arrangement interesting. As always, I welcome your input. Even Clerks in the Courthouse sometimes made mistakes, so if you have personal knowledge of any of these couples let me know. I'll also be happy to add your e-mail address to them. It would be great to work up a listing of all the Ministers of the Gospel (MG) and then you might learn what church they belonged to. The Justice of Peace would have been for a specific military district. Leonard, Ordinary This copy is typed from a photo reproduction of the original will and testament of Hiram McDaniel by Barbara McDaniel Ray, November 17, 2000. ======NOTES========== First Hiram's second wife Mattie Elizabeth. I know nothing about her (i.e., her maiden or first married name nor marriage date). The will was the first clue we had that Hiram had married a second time. Ella Jones is daughter Ella McDaniel (born April 14, 1852) m. William Jones, moved to Texas. Marth Braddy should be daughter Martha Ann McDaniel (June 04, 1843-Sept. 24, 1913) m. William Alexander Braddy December 27, 1865. Many of the Braddy descendants still live in west Georgia. I have been able to locate and contact only a few of them. Jas. S. and James should be son James S. McDaniel (June 28, 1849-July 12, 1916). H. P. should be son Henry Patrick McDaniel (October 11, 1856-December 13, 1946) m. Emma Williams. W. J. should be son William Jasper McDaniel (August 31, 1844-April 6, 1924) m. Lucinda Pamelia Elizabeth Black October 19, 1873. This is my line. A. F. should be son Allen Franklin McDaniel (October 06, 1864-August 27, 1930) m. Edna Eugene Black June 27, 1894. Leola Black should be daughter Leola Rebecca McDaniel (May 10, 1867-October 2, 1931) m. John Thomas Black November 06, 2903. Hiram Jr. should be son Hiram L. McDaniel (January 11, 1846-October 11, 1907). Thos. McDaniel (see above) should be son Charles Thomas McDaniel. Some of Charles Thomas' descendants wonder why he was "disinherited", with his share going to the second wife. I prefer to think that there may have been a financial transaction between father and son that removed his "share". Charles Thomas went on to marry and to have a large family that reaches over multiple generations. I believe these to be all of the children surviving in 1894. There are many McDaniel cousins unknown to me, many still in the S.E. So, I and others who will sponsor another annual McDaniel and Allied Families Reunion at The Rock in Upson Co. in July 2001, would welcome all contacts.
Posted on: Talbot County, Ga Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ga/Talbot/627 Surname: Haynes, Towler ------------------------- Seeking information on the descendents of Smith Haynes and his wife Martha Towler Haynes. On the 1820 census they were living in Talbert Co., with two boys and two girls. Last information I have is the 1840 census: they had four boys and eight girls. Martha Towler Haynes was the daughter of James Towler and Martha (Patsy) Johnson of VA. Martha Towler Haynes was most likely born in VA but could be Lincoln Co., GA. Any information will help.

Harriet Elizabeth BROWNING. On August 13, 1861, in Chattahoochee county, GA, my ggmother, Elizabeth CANNON, was born. When/where did Anna die? How many children did she and Wiley have? There was one daughter in the household several years older than Elizabeth - was she Anna's daughter, or Harriet's by a prior marriage? I can find nothing solid about Harriet prior to her marriage to Wiley, so am totally in the dark as to the parentage of this other child. Any assistance would be much appreciated - obviously Harriet is one of my brick walls, but I would also like to fill in some gaps about Anna, and the child.
