Any ideas of what it really is, or has anyone heard of this family? Oh, and is this THE John C. CALHOUN? Any info gratefully accepted. Posted on: Talbot County, Ga Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Talbot/10705 Surname: FEAGIN, FAGAN, DRENNEL ------------------------- Came across a record in the Talbot County marriage listings that must surely be my GGF and GGM. Fagan, William H. married Jane Drennell 4 Aug 1853 John C. Calhoun, JP pg C103 I know that William's first wife, Aletha MILLEN, died in June of 1852, so this looks like a great fit, and yes his second wife's first name was Jane/Janie. Does anyone know anything about the DRENNEL name? Certainly is unusual, and I don't have access to the census to see if there is such a family. What else could it be if the original was mis-read? Thanks!

I have the wills of slave holders; William and James R. Barnes but have not found this family listed on their property inventories. Russell

    1. [GATALBOT] GA, 1849, Talbot County, possible connection Blackstone W. BAILEY
    2. Blackstone W. Bailey, b. 10-1-1849, (probably Talbot or Harris Co., GA) d. 8-19-1901 in San Saba County, TX, while living next to Allen Kilgore Bailey born 1849 or 1850 in Talbot or Harris Co. I surmise these 2 men were cousins or even possibly brothers. Allen moved to Claiborne Parish, LA with his parents about 1858, before he was 9 years old. Since these two men are neighbors in 1900-01, there must be a close connection. Blackstone as a first name suggests respect for the legal profession, not magicians in this context. Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks for reading. Tom

    3. Posted on: Talbot County, Ga Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Talbot/10697 Surname: Walton ------------------------- I have research on 4 previous generations of the Walton Family of Talbotton, GA. They were owned by John Haire "Major Jack" Walton. My Grandfather was Allen Walton and he was born in 1824. He married Mahaley and they shared either 5 of 6 children. I also have their names. My mother and Great-Auntie are helping me to compile the DOBs and deaths, though I can tell you that Allen lived a long life. As for "Major Jack" as he was called, he was a very wealthy slave owner with close to 100 slaves and I have a picture of him, his wife and daughter. I am still getting information and hope there is a connection that will help both of us. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    3. Hello everyone, I was wondering and hoping someone could check a census record for me, or perhaps you might be researching the same families. In 1870 Flint Hill Dist. there should be a listing for JANE HODO she is thought to be Levica/Vicey/Jane Hodo who married JAMES DANIEL in Houston County GA 1852. I am hoping to find listed with her some of her Daniel/Daniels children. Henrietta HODO or DANIEL/DANIELS may be living with her or close to her, she may also have a child with the last name of DANIEL/DANIELS. HENRIETTA HODO married THOMAS J. DANIEL in Conecuh Cty Ala 1868, its thought they had one child. My DANIEL/DANIELS came from GA I don't know where for sure. But, I think tracking the HODO line will lead me to answers. I do know that most of my DANIEL/DANIELS stayed in Conecuh/Monroe Counties of Alabama after 1860. They married into the MASON and HAWSEY families in Conecuh Cty. Levica/Jane/Vicey moved back into GA along with Henrietta and Catherine. The question is why Talbot when they had family in Houston and Pluski Counties. Any help suggestions thoughts or comments that might help track down the HODO and DANIEL families please let me know. Thanks in Advance for any help Debbie

    2. Roger Robison
    3. Posted on: Talbot County, Ga Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Talbot/10695 Surname: SEARS ------------------------- Frances E. Sears was born in GA around 1828-1834. I think she may have been born in Talbot County. I suspect that her father is the John Sears listed in the 1840 census of Muscogee County, GA. I know for certain that she married James Cave in De Kalb County, AL, in November, 1856, and I have been able to trace her migration from AL to MS to TX where she died in December, 1910. I suspect that she is the Frances Mincy buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Tyler, Smith County, TX. I seek to verify her parentage. If you have information about the Sears family in Georgia that would substantiate or refute any of the information above, please contact me.
