Ted Bass, pastor of the church, officiated, assisted by Rev E.H. Dunn, Rev. Walter Evans, and Rev. Robert Agner. Internment was in the Butler Cemetery. Born in Marion County, October 4,1890, son the late Thomas S. and Ellen Halley Montgomery, he has spent most of his life in Taylor County. After graduation from the Medical School of Augusta, he established an office in Butler and several years later founded the Montgomery Hospital in Butler. He remained active in his medical practice until his death. He was a member of the Butler Methodist Church. He died at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta at 11:50 p.m., Sunday, after a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Anniera McLendon Montgomery, one son, Dr. R. Clifford Montgomery and one grand daughter, Miss Patricia Montgomery. Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements with the following serving as pallbearers: James Gibson, Calvin Jarrell, Murray Jarrell, Emmett Wilson, Walter Suggs, Hubert Payne and Hugh Cheek. Cox Funeral services for Cecil Wilchar Cox were held Friday at the Missionary Baptist Church in Junction City at 3 p.m. Rev Charles Kay, pastor of the church, Rev. Joe Hendricks, a former pastor of the church, now of Emory University in Atlanta and Dr. B.E. Donehoo, a former pastor of the church and now retired at Montezuma, officiated. Internment was in the city cemetery. Mr. Cox died Thursday about 5:15 at his home on Junction City after five weeks of illness. Born August 16,1904, Mr. Cox was son of Homer W. Cox Sr. and the late Mrs. Annie Bell Wilchar Cox of Taylor County. He had resided in Junction City 36 years and had been Postmaster 33 of those years. He was a deacon on the Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Masons. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Fielder Cox of Junction City; his father, Homer W. Cox Sr.; one brother, Homer W. Cox, Jr.; one sister, Mrs. Maesal Cox Childres and three nephews, Wayne, Danny, and Wesley Cox, all of Butler. He was also survived by a number of uncles and aunts. Pallbearers were Harvey Buckner, Ira Craft, Brooks McDaniel, Leonard Morgan, Jr., Henry Cosby, and G.C. Stuckey.

Mrs. Moore was injured in an automobile accident October 10,1944, at which time her husband, was killed instantly. Barnes, Birmingham, Al. Funeral services will be held at the Junction City Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Moore was a member, Wednesday morning at 11 o?clock. Rev. D.E. Donnahoo, assisted by Rev. E.H. Carter?s Rites to Be Today TALBOTTON, Ga., Oct. 15,1946- Dr. Grady Lumsden Carter, 55, beloved Talbot county physician, died at his home here Tuesday. He had been ill for two years. Funeral services will be held at his home here at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Talbotton Cemetery. Dr. Carter, during his career as a physician in his native Talbot County, typified the ideals of the old-fashioned country doctor. He often rejected flattering offers to practice his profession in larger communities. His practice carried him to all parts of the county, and hundreds owe their lives to his surgical ability. Many times he had operated upon patients by lamp or flashlight in isolated farm houses. He administered to all without thought of self, weather or distance. Dr. Carter was born in Talbot County Nov. 28,1890, the son of the late John Allen and Della Lumsden Carter. His parents on both sided belonged to prominent pioneer families of the county. After finishing grammar school here, Dr. Carter attended R.E. Lee Institute at Thomaston. Later he graduated from the Atlanta Medical College, now the Emory University School of Medicine. Shortly after he received his medical degree, he began his practice in Talbotton in 1913. He continued his work as a surgeon and physician until his health forced him to retire several years ago. Dr. Carter was married Oct. 11,1913, to Ruth Elizabeth Arnold, who survives him. Mrs. Carter, a sister of Robert M Arnold, Columbus attorney, is at present, superintendent of schools in this county. Dr. Carter was a member of the Methodist Church. Beside his widow, he is survived by two sons, Hugh P. Carter, Birmingham, and Norman K Carter, Talbotton; two grandchildren , Norman K. Carter Jr., Talbotton, and Lynne Carter of Birmingham; two nieces, Julia Carter , Columbus, and Mrs. W.A. Cox, Blakely, and three nephews, Norman King, Cuthbert; Charles P. King, Americus, and E. Worrill Carter, Thomaston.

One of the injured, Helen McGahee, 4 died Tuesday. Macon County Sheriff W.T. Jolly identified the two as Willie Edwin Davis of Oglethorpe and Newton Griffin of Montezuma. The case is still under investigation. Trooper G.C. Reynolds said apparently a car driven by Davis was racing with another auto in which three if the victims were killed. The latter auto smashed head-on into another car on Camp Creek hill about 4 miles south of Oglethorpe on State highway 49. Dead in the accident were: Clarence Gordon Miller, 18, of Butler, identified by Sheriff Jolly as the driver of a 1955 Thunderbird in which Charles Everett Jr., 19 of Macon and Tommy Ragin, 21, of Montezuma also died. Mr. and Mrs. G.W. McGahee died in the 1962 Oldsmobile driven by Mr. McGahee. Passengers in the McGahee car included the 4 year old daughter, a two year old daughter, Charlene, and another couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Parrish of Dover, Fla. Macon County Sheriff Jolly said it was the worst wreck in the county since he took office about 32 years ago. The impact tore the body of the Thunderbird from its chassis.

Ingram, of Junction City, to Clyde W. Aderhold of Columbus, was an event of Oct.9 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Bentley Adams officiated at the double ring ceremony. Centering the alter was a large arrangement of pink gladioli and white chrysanthemums. Flanking the arrangement were seven branched cadelabra holding lighted candles, placed against a background of ferns and greenery. Ennon Culpeper was best man. Usher-groomsmen were Tommy Ingram and Gary Posey. Miss Annie Ingram, sister of the bride was maid of honor. She was dressed in green with black accessories and she carried a bouquet of carnation tied with satin ribbon. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a beige dress with matching slippers and a brown hat trimmed with matching velvet bows. She carried a white Bible covered with carnations and tied with a long white satin ribbon, The groom?s mother wore a green two-piece dress with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Ingram chose a dark blue dress with black accessories for her daughter?s wedding. Her flowers were white carnations. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given at the church by the bride?s parents. The bride?s table was covered with a white cloth and was banked with ivy. In the center was a tiered wedding cake, at one side a punch bowl. Assisting in serving were Miss Edie Ramsey, Miss Carolyn Smith and Miss Sue Alford of Atlanta. For the wedding trip, they planned to visit points in Florida. Following their return they will reside in Columbus.

(Buck) Hesters, in Junction City. The occasion was in celebration of the Silver Anniversary of wedding of the Hesters. ?Miss Lannis Childree, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Childree of Taylor Mill, and Marvin J Hesters, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Hesters of Junction City, were married on February 18,1951, by Rev. Hendley Jelks in the Taylor Mill Baptist Church? states a yellowed newspaper clipping from the Butler Herald. Remembering the occasion and celebrating with the couple, Sunday, were two of the wedding party, Jimmy Prince, who served as best man, and Harvey Buckner, an usher. Mrs. Hesters was given in marriage by her brother, Ben Childree Jr. Mrs. C.E. Marshall and Donald Whatley provided the music for the rites. Others in the wedding party were Mrs. Aubrey Peterman, Mrs. Leila Underwood, Misses Lillie Bartlett, Loquita Gates, Catherine Childree, C.W. and Robert Montgomery and Harold Brown. Following their wedding trip, Mr. ad Mrs. Hesters moved to Junction City where they still make their home. Mr. Hesters owns and operates M.J. Hesters Store and they are active in the Junction City Baptist Church where Mr. Hesters is Sunday School Superintendent. They are the parents of one daughter, Pam, now Mrs. Fred Burt of Columbus and are especially proud of their two grandchildren, Michael and Christa Burt of Columbus. Arrangements of spring flowers in yellow, lavender and pink interspersed with the silver numerals 25 were used in decorating the beautifully remodeled old family home of the Hesters. Mrs. Burt greeted the guests and Mrs. Grady L. Hesters of Junction City invited them to register. Mr. and Mrs. Hesters stood alone before the large fireplace at the end of the living room. Mrs. Hesters chose a floor length dress of apricot knit and an orchid corsage for the afternoon. Mrs. J.M. Prince of Macon, cut the tiered cake and Mrs. Allen Hesters of Fort Benning poured punch. Mrs. Harvey Buckner of Junction City assisted in serving. The dining room table was laid with a handmade Honduran linen and lace cloth and centered with an epergne of spring flowers in a silver-branched candelabra. A matching arrangement on the buffet was flanked by silver candelabra holding burning tapers.

His widow remained in City Hospital in critical condition as result of injuries sustained in the accident near Upatoi. Dr. James Spikes, who is attending Mrs. Moore, said ?there is little change in her condition. She is doing fairly well but is not yet put of danger.? The Rev. B.C. The death of Miss Ruby Helen Hale, 36, Talbot County health nurse, brought the total of water deaths to four within the past four days in the Chattahoochee. In the Talbotton accident, Miss Hale, who lived with Mr. And Mrs. Joe Hale of Talbotton, failed to return home following a fishing trip Tuesday. Her car was located near the pond about 9 Tuesday night. The lake was dragged until 2:30 a.m. without success. Later a drag line was obtained from Manchester and the body was discovered shortly before 6 a.m. Miss Hale, a former member of the Army Nurse Corps, was a non-swimmer. Prior to joining the Talbot County Health Department, she was employed as a nurse by Dr. Kirkland in Manchester. A native of Talbot County, survivors include her parents, Mr. And Mrs. G.C. Hale, Sr. of Woodland; five brothers, Joe, Hardy, Hugh, Sidney and G.C., Jr. all of Woodbury; two sisters, Mrs. Odell Eubanks, Valdosta, and Mrs. Dallas Lucas of Newnan. Funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Valley Grove Baptist Church, Woodland, with the Rev. Wheeler Kidd, pastor, conducting the service, assisted by the Rev. Howard McCrary, Woodland Baptist pastor. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
