Judy was the best Nana ever to Leigha James and Dalton James. She loved her grandkids and spent as much time as she could with them. She love the Lord, prayed daily, and loved going to church. For many years, Judy served Pike and Meriwether counties as a dispatcher at the Sheriff�s Department. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Sparks of Thomaston; uncles Leonard Daniel of Barnesville and Dick McDaniel of Meansville; uncle and aunt, Donald and Mary Daniel of Albany; and good friend, Nikki Deen of Thomaston. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law: B. J. and Jonathan James and Ariel Sherlock all of Griffin; honorary children: Chad and Maria Caudell, Tiffany Matthews, and Brandy Crane; sisters and a brother-in-law: Angie Turner, Patricia Turner and Debra and Dale Wheeler; brother and sister-in-law: Jesse and Dot Turner; cousin, but thought of as a sister and brother-in-law: Lynn McDaniel Narron and Todd Narron; cousins, but thought of as brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby McDaniel, Dennis and Janet McDaniel, Houston and Jamie Daniel; honorary grandchildren include: Lydia Caudell, Mary-Beth Caudell, Brooklyn Matthews, Kayleigh and Chloe Crane; special aunts: Elizabeth McDaniel and Alice Daniel: special friends: Peggy and Larry Ballard; former husband: Jim Nixon who has been by her side many days and nights, and former husband Anthony Sherlock; a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved dog �Jack�. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, August 27, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Ballard and Chaplain Winfred Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
