Swann, who was shot last week by Mr. Forrest McNeely in Griffin, died Friday. Mr. Swann was in the act of marrying Mrs. Lillie McNeely, the mother of Mr. Forrest McNeely, when the latter shot him to prevent the marriage. Mr. Swann was well known to the people of Pike county. He was reared in the community north of Barnesville. His body was sent to Marshall, Texas, for burial. McNeely is in jail in Griffin and his trial will probably occur at the August term of the Spalding Superior Court. Additional Comments: James Forrest McKneely was a son of Thomas J. McKneely and Lillie A. Cook. All three are buried at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery in Spalding County, Georgia.
