The family is originally from Hall County, Ga and show up on the 1930 Georgia, Spalding County, Union census. Is anyone researching either the CHAMBERS or MCINTYRE families? William G. Yes they did, I never had the privilege of actually meeting either, BUT Bob had shared a location of a cemetery in Spalding county that had NOT been documented in any previous printed material, I visited it and documented it, this would of NEVER happened if it wasn't for this kind man, who understood the NEED to document such. Matter of fact it was less than a couple of months after I documented it that I was contacted by a fellow that wanted to visit it for a documentary he was writing. All this and future finds due to his past work and knowledge. Ken, check out the following source For all my fellow genealogists, I think you will find this article interesting: http://www.ajc.com/lifestyle/1890-georgia-tax-digests-1134098.html -----Original Message----- From: ken wilder <[email protected]> To: gaspaldi <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, Aug 22, 2011 10:37 am Subject: Re: [GASPALDI] George A. Wilder obit Thanks for the tip about the map search. I'll sure give that a try. The county line changes have seemed to have been a problem before and is probably the case this time too. My Wilder Grandparents lived in Locust Grove, in Henry Co., which is just a stones throw from Jenkinsburg Road actually. I did find the church and luckily I had a sister still living in the Towaliga area of Butts Co. The church appears to only be a mile or so from her and she will check that out. Thank you so much again for your help on this! ALL YOU NEED IS A MAP WITH THE DISTRICTS boundaries noted, I think that area was originally Henry Co. since Spalding was created from part of Henry, google Georgia county creation dates and you will see in WHAT county they were in during those dates, as with my South GA family research I traced to a dead end in one county then realized the county creation dates, they were actually in the SAME PHYSICAL location but county lines were created for NEW county etc, so their documentation was in previous or new county. http://www.us-census.org/states/georgia/teams/Spalding1930-T626-384.htm somewhere online is a 1910 Spalding co map search for it This week I will attempt to find the church -----Original Message----- From: ken wilder <[email protected]> To: gaspaldi <[email protected]> Sent: Sun, Aug 21, 2011 8:03 pm Subject: Re: [GASPALDI] George A. Don, Yep, those are some of my relatives. Barney was my Dad and Roena was my GGgrandmother. William L. was married to Susie (Susan) Blackman) and my George was the brother of William. Thanks again for the help! Ken

Don, According to our family Bible George's wife was Rena Bryant and her siblings were Herebert, Nancy and Lizzy. >From what I have found so far I believe they were the children of Bluford and Mary Bryant who were in the 1880 Henry Co. census. My Rena I believe was the Lorena in that 1880 census. I found Rena married a Faulkner after George died but have not found much on her family members. Thanks for the reply and help on this! From your posting I know you are looking for G. A. Wilder. I checked the Butts County Cemetery book, next door neighbor to Spalding and it list..........Addie Lou, Barney Lee, Collins, E.J., Ellie Ray, G. W., Martha Ann, Mary Florence, Quincey A., Roena R., Sadie Eva, Susan B. and William L. Wilder. Know they do not match the name you are requesting, but thought these names might be some relatives which might be some clue. For what its worth. Don Bankston
George Andrew (G.A.) Wilder was my great grandfather and he was born about 1872 in Butts Co. I am looking for any obit or burial information regarding George. He was living in Spalding Co. in the 1900 Census. His last child, Nora Mae Wilder, was born in 1908 or 1909. His wife was still living in Spalding Co. in the 1910 Census and was listed as a widow. Any help would be appreciated! Ken Wilder
