Hi Nan, Well, my gg-grandmother Mary Etta McClellan(d) Sheley re-married to a younger Thomas Barber prior to 1870. In the 1870 census that couple (she was enumerated as 'Marietta') had two young daughters Estill (age 2) and Mary (age 1) living with the five older Sheley children of Richard W. & Mary E. Sheley. Later, I saw some indication that Mary Etta Sheley (as she was later known, with her grave marker at McBride Methodist being inscribed Mary E. Sheley - her married Barber surname seemed to have disappeared) may have had another daughter. I cannot recall her name or immediately find it (she was mentioned in a deed or a probate court document). But, that girl may have been of the right age to have been this Georgia Barber who married in 1893. Just a thought about who Georgia Barber may have been.
