3. While looking for information on my Uncle Andrew Greiner I came across some old postings that Mr. Sampson posted about St. George Parish & one imparticular caught my eye for it mentions my sixth great-grandfather Philip Jacob Greiner: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/GAEMANUE/2002-03/1016893750 From: "Terry Sampson" < DisplayMail('worldnet.att.net','zei'); zei@worldnet.att.net> Subject: [GAEMANUE-L] Early St. George Parish 2 Date: Sat, 23 Mar 2002 06:29:10 -0800 From: Georgia Land Owners' Memorials: 1758 - 1776 Abstracted by Eve B. Borneman, W vacant, granted to Catherine Magdalene Greiner 4-13-1761. Does anyone know who Catherine Magdalene Greiner is? I am unable to find mention of her in the tree I have & Grandfather Philip did not have a daughter named Catherine so that rules this being his daughter out. I was thinking perhaps this is his unknown wife? Thank You, Lena --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.

    3. Hi Lena, Bob Griner in his family section F152 on page 161 of the Screven County History has a Mary Magdalena Greiner born in 1735 to Philip Jacob Greiner and his unknown wife. She married George Michel Weber on November 26, 1754. In section F154 (page 161) Bob notes that Captain John Casper Greiner married first to Caroline Magdalene (Greve) Borneman. That couple did have a daughter named Caroline Magdelene Griner born January 6, 1804 who married Moses N. McCall on April 4, 1820. She died in 1835. The information regarding her appears on page 162 of the SCH in section F154. None of those listed above have the same name as your Catherine Magdalene Greiner. But, it certainly does appear as though that middle name of Magdalene / Magdelene is a repeated given name usage amongst the Greiner / Griner family.
