    1. [GASCREVE] animated map of changing county lines

    3. http://www.mygeorgiagenealogy.com/ga_maps/ga_cf.htm This is a great site with an animated map of Georgia that shows the changing county lines. You can put your cursor where you thought your ancestors lived and watch the county lines change, moving your curser until you pinpoint an approximate location where the land was located once the shifting had stopped. For example, I was able to figure out where the Deans lived in Washington Co on Big Creek that also fell into Montgomery County and then into Laurens County. I was able to do the same with The shift of St George's Parish to Burke and then to Jefferson, and land in St Matthews that changed to Screven and then to Burke, etc. Have fun!
