Hey Carole, Is it possible that this Coalson is perhaps part of the Colson family found around North Newington Baptist Church? That family came to Effingham County and settled along the Savannah River prior to the Revolutionary War. Carole, I'm not sure, but it's funny you should ask. I think he would be a grandson of Edward Blackshear and Emily Goodwin Mitchell, who happen to be the parents of the Mary Louise Blackshear who married a John Choice Hall in Thomas Co Ga in 1828. Mary was born in Pulaski Co Ga in 1813. This John Choice Hall is said to be born b 1810, but I think he may be the John Choice Hall b 1807 that I mentioned earlier today. According to the Blackshear researchers, both Mary Louise and John Choice died in the 1830's. This couple had two sons, James Thomas and Edward Blackshear Hall, born in 1830 and 1831 or thereabout. My theory is that Mary died in childbirth. Her mother raised the two boys. You need to look up the history of the Wyche plantation,or Melrose Plantation as I think it may be called. I think that a Paul Coalson may have been instrumental in its development, I can't remember all of the details. Probably Edward is a descendant or relative of his. Juniper Hall b 1825, brother of Mary Jane Hall and Iradell Hall, was murdered on the plantation in 1873. Do you know a researcher named Gerry Hill?
