    3. Hello! I am new to the list and would like to reach anyone researching McMullens or Vicks or Fains or Parramores in Screven County or the area. My GGGgrandparents, James R/S and Sarah Minton Vick came in about 1785 from NC, through SC to -"that part of Burke Co which later became Screven". They had only two sons William, b. SC 1782 and James b. 1788 [and one daughter] but the two sons , who married sisters Lavinia and Rebecca Fain [in Telfair?] each had at least a dozen children. William's stayed mostly in Brooks County [Quitman] Ga, but at least 8 of James and Rebecca's, including all seven sons [the youngest is my gggrandpa] moved down to Florida. James and Rebecca and his mother Sarah 's remains were moved last summer [the land in Quitman they were buried in was sold out of the family] down to the McMullen Cemetery in Largo[Pinellas Co.] but Sarah's husband James was not with them. He died about 1794 in Screven County---it is said he was thrown from a horse and had a broken neck. Does anyone on the list know of a cemetery where he might have been buried? I believe also some of Sarah's Vick relatives lived near this couple. Does the "Old Halifax district" mean anything to you-all? The Fain sisters were two [of Thirteen] children of Thomas Fain and Mary Parramore, whose family is associated with Parramore Hill, in Jenkins[?] county I think. I have heard that the cemetery there is being looked into. Anyone know about that? I do thank anyone who can give me any information on any of these ''Dear Departed Folk" Regards, Steph Powell Cecil stephaxi@mindspring.com
