Barb, It's seems to me that the "E." in Georgia E. Mathews' name stands for Ellie. I know that there was a lot of women named Georgia Ella during this time frame (my maternal grandmother's name was Georgia Lessie, so I naturally noticed anyone named Georgia). Anyway, I recommend that you contact the Probate Court's office in Waynesboro (I believe that it is still Judge Herrington), and request that a marriage certificate be sent to you.
