    2. Gregory Drexel
    3. Charleston, August 18. Died, a few days since, MR. JOHN POWER, of Waterford. This young man lately arrived here from Ireland, with his father, a man now in his 75th year, in full expectation of being put in possession of an estate, willed them conditionally; but they were not informed (previous to their leaving home) of the opinion prevalent in this country that "it is far better to be an executor than heir at law". It is a melancholy reflection, that this aged father must either shortly end, or drag on a miserable existence, pennyless and friendless, pending "the glorious uncertainty of the law". (GG 8/28/1800, 3:1) WEBB, James: Effingham Co.; JOHN POWER, Curtis Loper, Exec. (CM 6/13/1797, 3:2) Savannah, November 18. On Monday last died here, CAPTAIN MICHAEL POWER, of the brig "Philadelphia" belonging to Barbados. (GSG 11/18/1784, 3:1) Savannah, February 21. Died, yesterday morning after a violent illness of nine days continuance, MRS. SARAH WILLIAMS, wife of Mr. David R. Willliams, one of the proprietors of this paper, and daughter of NICHOLAS POWER, Esq., of Providence (Rhode Island), aged 27 years...(GR&SI 2/21/1803, 3:1) Savannah, July 28. Died, on the 26th instant after a short illness, MR. TITUS POWERS, one of the Editors of this paper. His surviving partner has thus been deprived of an affectionate friend and able assistant; and the community, of an honest and industrious Citizen. [died 26 July 1796, 22 years. p. 78] Charleston, November 30. On Friday the 13th instant, were executed at Pinckneyville, for horsestealing, in the presence of near 2,000 spectators, the noted offenders WILLIAM POWERS and PATRICK MORRIS...(GG 12/10/1795, 3:2) POWERS, Titus: Phineas Miller, Gurdon I. Seymour, printer, ltrs admr. (CM 8/22/1797, 3:4) That is all.
