Pg. 252 "Died 23rd March, Mr. James JOHNSTON, ag 88 years, a Revolutionary Soldier. He Left Ireland, his native country and came with his father (who was a surveyor) to America before the Revolution and remained in S. C. until the Declaration of Indenpendence took place. He then fought in the war. After the war, he returned to Ireland and brought his mother, brother and sisters with him to America, where he reamined for some time. He then, for his second time, returned to Ireland where he married and with his wife returned to America in 1810, selecting Charleston as the place of his final abode. Here he raised a worthy family.
