Son of Thomas A. YOW, a successful farmer and merchant. Died in Richmond, Virginia. Died Nov. 1, 1861. His mother formerly Malissa DEAN, was born Oconee Co., S. C. 1824 and married in 1842; she is still living. Mr. YOW'S ancestry were of a noble family in Germany and came to N.C. about the year of 1760, thence removed to Picken District, S. C. in 1800. Richard D. YOW was oldest son of seven children and married Dec. 8,1870 to Miss Nancy ADERHOLD, dau. of Dr. Henry ADERHOLD, a skillful or Carnesville. They have 4 children -- 3-10 years of age.
