Sept. 29, 1839." pg. 45 "Died in Laurens County on Jan. 29th at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Clarissa COLEMAN, Mrs. Rachel JOHNSON, age 78 years. She had been a worthy member of the Baptist Church for 35 years. Feb. 14, 1837." pg. 54 "At his residence in Jones County in his 71st year, William JOHNSON, Sr. He grew up among and was educated by Quakers. June 26, 1838." pg. 54 "In Putnam County at the home of Joseph JOHNSON on the 2nd inst., Mrs. Elizabeth WARREN, corsort of Jesse WARREN, Sr. late of Hancock County, dec'd in her 87th year. She had gone home with her daughter, Mrs. Susan JOHNSON, for a visit and died there, of injuries sustained when thrown out of the buggy enroute there. She was born in DInwiddie Co., Virginia. Samuel JOHNSON of Randolph County, age 26 years. She was converted at age of 10 and has been a consistent member since, of the Methodist Church. Sept 30, 1812." pg. 93 "A report hass been received on the murder by Indians of Col. Daniel JOHNSON of Chickasaw Bluff and a Mr. MCGLASKY. Maj. POWELL was with them but escaped. They were exploring the lands on the Alabama River in the late cession by the Indians, and the attack occurred near an Indian Villagae called Standing Peachtree about 50 miles above Ft. Clairborne. Feb. 28th 1816." pg. 94 "A news item from St. Stephens, Mississippi Territory, dated Feb. 16, says that Daniel JOHNSON, Esq., a very respectable citizen of Baldwin County (GA.) was killed by the Indians, along with one other man. He had gone there with his negroes to cultivate or clear up a farm and to prepare for the moving of his family. The killing occurred on the Alabama River about 40 miles above Ft. Clairborne.
