CRAWFORD died Sept. 15th at Lexington. He was on his way to Superior Court in Elbert County when on Saturday morning 13th of Sept., he reached Valentine MERIWETHER'S home and stopped there for the night. He ate a hearty supper and later retired for the night, but within a few minutes after going to bed he suffered a bad heart attack; however, it was relieved. He remained in bed, attended by doctors. He was cheerful as usual but vomited often. While the doctors were out of his room discussing his case with each other about 3 A.M., on re-entering they found him dead. Sept. 25, 1834."
