Judy, This is Lewis L. Lanier again. Just a few comments to clarify: 1. The Lanier married to Sarah A. Hurst is Isaac Lewis Lanier, not Lewis Lanier. 2. Isaac Lewis Lanier is buried in Oliver Ga., at the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church. I think Sarah is buried there also, but am not positive. 3. Since the "Lanier" Book does not give her exact birth date in 1808, anything is possible. 4. I believe that Belinda was a widow when she married Isaac Lewis Lanier. You are really enjoying this, aren't you! Good luck. I have a slightly different birth date for Sarah A. Hurst-I have recorded her birth as 1813. will check that out. Now, does anyone have any more input on this 2nd marriage tp Belinda A.Whitstone b. 1815. I know that it had to have been the second marriage, as Sarah was married in 1833, and had her first child in that same year. Need to check Screven, I guess for Belinda's info and a marriage record. I would say that it was more than likely in Screven and Lewis is buried in Screven. Looks as tho he resided in both Effingham and Screven Counties. The Whitstone surname is found in Screven and not a hint of that name in Effingham that I have ever seen. This does at least give us something to go on. Another researcher commented that his notes mention that Belinda was a widow, perhaps when she married Lewis. Any comments or input welcomed. Judy Rountree Mason 2jv@bellsouth.net I do have a recent copy of the marriage of Lewis and Sarah A. Hurst here in Effingham Co. if anyone requires this document-just let me know! >>
