Searching for information on Thomas WATERS, the Col. (Tory- English), who reportedly left America following the American Revolution. OR, did he return to Union Co., SC? He ? m. a part Cherokee Indian, Sarah "Sallie." Did he have two families? He was an Indian Trader and owned land in SC and GA. If anyone has a Collison/Callison WATERS, I would appreciate any info about when he m. (1) Elizabeth Newland CASTLEBERRY (2) Stacy BENTON. I was told that Collison WATERS was b. 1789, but a Collison WATERS owned land in 1803 on the Savannah River, so I believe he was born earlier - or he may have been a Jr.? I believe the WATERS came to GA from Union Co., SC, and lived on the Savannah River, Wilkes or Richmond County, in the late 1700's. Matthew WATERS served on the first jury in 1797, Jackson Co. A George WATERS signed a petition to the governor in 1789 about the line dispute in the so-called "Wofford Settlement." Did he/they perhaps live in the Screven Co. or Bulloch Co. area? Some of the WATERS’ were in Warren Co. in late 1700s. Was there a marriage for Collison WATERS in Warren County - or what county did he marry in - perhaps one of the surrounding counties - or, Screven or Bulloch Co./? Would appreciate any information.
