    3. Hi Robin, While Sheriff Coursey is mentioned, there is no mention of a Sheriff Elkins. There is a single reference to the surname ELKINS in the family entry F140 (on page 156) for the family of Thomas Freeman (Nov. 19, 1849 - May 10, 1934) and his wife Mary Elizabeth Newton (April 28, 1847 - Nov. 27, 1912). They were married on Jan. 1, 1874. In that entry there is the following description for the fifth offpring of that family: Vivian A. Freeman, born July 6, 1881, married Jimmie Elkins, daughter Elkins, daughter of James E. Elkins. No issue. That's the only Elkins reference included in the index.
