Jean, The Hand (now Hann) Family is a very old Screven County family, of whom I've found references as early as 1769. They were originally clustered around Hurst Baptist Church, along with the Reddicks and Oglesbees. Anyway, Kathleen Overstreet Hann lives in Sylvania and runs Kay's Flower Shop and Screven County Monument Company. She was married to Rudolph Hann (now deceased), but his brother is still alive and lives just off of South Main Street. I just can't remember his name at present. The Hanns are related to me on the Cubbedge side, and I have done some limited research on their family. As far as I know, the Sowells have always been in the Newington area, and spread over into Southeast Bulloch County, near Leefield, Stilson, and Brooklet.
