Hi Nancy, Just a quick look at the "Screven County History" shows that William History was elected to the office of Sheriff on January 20, 1794. In the same section of T17 he is mentioned as one of those citizens participating in the 'cause of the new county.' Other than his marriage to Susan A. Jones, that is the only mention of him in the the 'SCH."
