I am interested in any information on William Lane or his family. I believe that he was born about 1832 in Dublin, Ireland, immigrated to the USA about 1846, and is shown on the 1860 Screven County census with a wife Celia and children Robert, Alice, & Milton. I believe that Celia was also born in Ireland and that Robert, assuming he is the correct Robert Hamilton Lane, was born in Thomasboro on 10/17/1850. LANE, William 28 Celia 23 Robert 9 Alice 6 Milton 3 Information that I have received from some kind Screven County researchers leads me to believe that by 1870 the family was split up and William is not in Screven County any more, unless he had died between 1860 & 1870. In 1870 Milton is living with a family named Larcicy (spelling ?), Celia & Alice are living alone, & Robert with his future in laws (the Lemuel Parker family). In 1880 Celia is living alone and Milton with wife Emma. Alice had probably married by then. If anyone has any information on any of the above people I would appreciate the help.
