Carol, Do I need to make corrections? I show Elijah Remer Young's wife as Malvina Donaldson. Was there another marriage to a Peel? His daughter is named Malvina. I also have his grandparents as Isaac Young, Jr. and Martha Bradley. Was Isaac's first name Wm., with possibly a first wife, Miss Remer, the mother of the children? If so when did Isaac and Martha marry? Or do I have Remer's father Wm. linked incorrectly? Thanks a million for any help....CY ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your home page. http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

    3. Yes, thank you. Elijah Remer Young was one of the sons of William Young and Mary Henderson. When William Young died in 1814, there was an administration that listed the orphans of William Young [this happened in Scriven County] where Elijah Remer [E.R.] was listed with Willis, James, Elizabeth, Michael, David, Lavinia, and off the tope of my head I can't remember the other child. The only child to really remain a property holder in Scriven/Bulloch County was James Young who died in 1859. The rest pioneered on down to Thomas, Brooks, Decatur and Early counties. This E.R. Young was married to a Peel. We've looked for years to find the real origin of the name Remer and Elijah for whom he was named. 2. Dale E. Reddick
    3. Hey Carole, There's a problem with those Quaker settlers of Wrightsboro. Most of them fled the frontier and backcountry warfare that arose in the 1770s of Georgia. Wrightsboro was basically abandoned during the Revolutionary War. There was a John Ruddock at Wrightsboro in the 1770s. He didn't stay in Georgia. He went back to North Carolina. We know this because one of Ruddick / Ruddock researchers tracked him back out of Georgia. And I know this because this fellow was looked at as a possible ancestor of the Reddicks in Burke and Screven Counties (he wasn't). Why do I bring this up on the list. Well, not all who came to Georgia stayed in Georgia... 3. Funny story! My Grandfather Scott owend/ran turpentine camps from his late teen days in Jackson Co./, Fla, sE Alabama and, I think at one time, somewhere in decatur Co., Ga He was sober as judge during the week but on the weekends he'd make my sweet granny double up on her ol' timey back in the country Baptist faith. My late Uncle, Charles, told me once that he was riding in a buckboard with his father and ol' Charlie, sr handed him a bottle of freshly minted shine and asked if he wnted a toke of it. Unk was about 16 and, wanted to seem manly, took a big swig of this feremented lighning and turned several shades of green and spat the offending mass upon the ground. Grandpa got irate with him and told him, " Boy, that stuff is precious and costly. Why didn't you just spit it back in the jar! I'd a drunk it later!" <ust of been REAL men back then!! My angelic mother, being a career tetotaler would hid his bottles of Who Hit John whenever he and granny came to visit us in jacksonville. he seemed to forget that he'd even bought the stuff. When we moved out of that house in 1959 I bet we found two dozen bottles in her closet, pantry and in the garage. Mom's father, who came from Italy in 1893 used to make home brewed wine in his basement in Rhode Island and frequently enjoyed his handicraft. Her Mom told me years ago that even as little girl Mom tried to hide thge wine production from Grandpa. Even today when we go out to dinner if i order a Bloody Mary she gives me the Italian evil eye and says a Novena for my soul! 1. [GASCREVE] from list mom, long messages
    2. I want to remind you all, to trim your messages. Some of the replies are getting long, with all of the replies hanging on the ends of the replies to the replies to the repliesand the Robot may not post them because of length. And I don't get to the trash ben until the weekend to sort out the rejects, so trim the messages and you reduce the chances of rejects because of overly long messages. Deborah Byrd List mom

    3. Scotti, Getting all these Williams in the right family isn't easy but we can hope a branch or two were buried together to keep us on the right track. Same with the Bragg's! Your Step-Grandma Susie was niece of my GGrandfather Benjamin Bragg. Ben's Brother George Washington Bragg is the one buried at Emit Grove they were siblings of Susie "Doll''s mother Susan Ida Bragg!!! My question to you is did your Susie 'Doll' have any children? 3. Carole, Scotti, There are Braggs at Emit Grove Baptist Church, I may have pictures of their graves. That cemetery has mostly, Glissons, Gerralds, Futch, and Braggs. I don't remember any Williams in that cemetery. I know there are Braggs and Williams buried in Statesboro at Bulloch Memorial Gardens but those were mostly buried mid 1960s on. Maybe this will help someone looking.
