    1. [GASCREVE] Name Place Idenification
    2. Judy V. Mason
    3. Recently I came across an article in the old Springfield Herald, of Effingham County, Ga. The article was published on April 16, 1990. Copies also submitted to Effingham County News and ENTERPRIZE-GAZETTE. The submitter was called the "MT. PILGRIM MISSIONARY SOCIETY." Can anyone idenify this society, or the name Mt. Pilgrim? It is obvious from the text that it may well have been from a close area near Effingham Co. The article is in reference to the death of a young "Christian worker" who had recently deceased. His name was GEORGE GROVENSTEIN. A series of resolutions had been set forth and signed by three committee members. One of who I am very interested in, for reaearch purposes. HENRY GABLE, Lula Bishop, and Kate Grey. Any help or suggestions appreciated, Judy Mason 2jv@bellsouth.net

    1. [GASCREVE] MRS. MARTHA HENDERSON/JOHN HODGES, JR/WILLIAM MICHAEL HENDERSON/JAMES YOUNG
    2. Gregory Drexel
    3. I found this entry in Mrs. Alvaretta Kenan Register's book, Bulloch County, Ga Genealogical Resource Material. Groom: Bride HODGES, JOHN JR. MRS. MARTHA HENDERSON Date: 14 August, 1827 Does anyone have any other information about these people? I am searching for the parents of Mr. MICHAEL HENDERSON who married JANE HARRIS GREENE in Bulloch County, GA in 1809, later moved to Screven County. His son, William Michael Henderson, (Sr.) married the daughter of JAMES YOUNG and LAVINIA JONES Young, daughter of James Jones, RS. On the 1860 Census of Screven County, GA, there is a JANE HODGES who appears in the household of WILLIAM MICHAEL HENDERSON. And seeing as how their farm was right across the Ogeechee River from the HODGES lands and William Michael Henderson, in his youth, was the overseer for his grandfather JAMES YOUNG's plantation, I wondered if there was any marriage, maybe second marriage, that would have a Mrs. Martha Henderson marrying John Hodges. Any ideas? Carole Drexel gdrexel1@airmail.net

    1. [GASCREVE] Re: HENDERSON/FARR Family GA 1800's-1900's
    2. Gregory Drexel
    3. Hi. Does anyone have any trails down to the FARR FAMILY mid 1800's-1900's in Georgia? I am searching for parents of JOHN M. FARR who married ANNIE LAURIE HENDERSON in 1891. Annie Henderson was from Screven County, GA. I have a copy of a letter that Annie Laurie Henderson's father, Captain William Michael Henderson, CSA, b. 1843 d. 1932, wrote to his fiancee, Cynthia Anne Brown of Buena Vista, Georgia, early in 1865, and he said that "MR. and MRS. FARR, Mrs. Farr being quite lively, came to visit him while his (CSA) Calvary Unit was in Augusta, Ga." So I believe that the Henderson family must have known a FARR family in Augusta, Georgia prior to 1865. And I presume that is how John M. Farr came to know Annie Laurie Henderson and marry her 25 years later in Screven County, Georgia. John and Annie (Annie died 1932 Screven County, GA and John supposedly went to Texas) ... had 3 sons: HARRY LEON FARR who married LAHLIA TAYLOR of Atlanta, GA had 2 daughters EARL FARR who moved to and lived on Long Island, New York and had a daughter Marion who moved to California CARROLL FRANKLIN FARR b. 1899 d. 1978 Bulloch County, GA, buried Screven County, Georgia, and who married MARY LEONA CLARK of Fleming, Liberty County, GA, b. 27 July 1900. Any help would be appreciated. Carole Farr Drexel gdrexel1@airmail.net

    1. [GASCREVE] SARAH HENDERSON/RICHARD MUNK marriage Bulloch Co 1805
    2. Gregory Drexel
    3. Hi. Would either of these names, SARAH HENDERSON or RICHARD MUNK look familiar to anyone? I found a marriage reference to them, m. 28 Dec. 1809, married in Bulloch County, GA, in the 'Bulloch County Ga Genealogical Resource Book' by Mrs. Alvaretta Kenan Register and just wondered... Could Sarah have been a sister to Michael Henderson who married Jane Harris Green in Bulloch County, GA in 1809? (Jane was the daughter of McKeen Green, Jr. and Elinor 'Nelly' McCall b. 1793). Nelly's father was Charles McCall, RS ancestor to many Screven County, families. In 1814, the same Michael and Jane (Green) Henderson bought the Screven County, GA property that belonged to the deceased William and Mary (Henderson)Young from William and Mary's son Willis Young. 3. This message is to Barbara. Was your John Green brother to McKeen Green, Sr.? His father would have been Thomas Green who married Susannah Harris. Thomas and McKeen Green were both RS from South Carolina and GA.
