    3. Cecelia I use Generations 4.2. I have found it easy to use and like the reports, haven't found the CDs to be very useful. Probably should get around to upgrading or switching to FTM. Lynne

    3. Along these same lines, are there any users of Generations Family Tree software? Is it comparable to Family Tree maker? It seems to have more CDs, but don't know if there's really more data. 2. Thanks Harvey, Deborah and Michelle. There's a $20 rebate on Version 7 right now so I'm going to take advantage of that. I don't know if they're selling Vers. 7.5 in the stores yet. I didn't see it in any of the stores I went to yesterday. I saw info about it on their web-site though. 1. Re: [GASCREVE] Mathews Marriage
    2. Barb, It's seems to me that the "E." in Georgia E. Mathews' name stands for Ellie. I know that there was a lot of women named Georgia Ella during this time frame (my maternal grandmother's name was Georgia Lessie, so I naturally noticed anyone named Georgia). Anyway, I recommend that you contact the Probate Court's office in Waynesboro (I believe that it is still Judge Herrington), and request that a marriage certificate be sent to you. These usually have the wife's maiden name on them, and if they don't have the certificate, there is no charge. Hope that this helps. Happy hunting! Scottie Scott

    1. [GASCREVE] Mathews Marriage
    2. Howdy folks... I'm hopin someone can help me with a puzzle I have going. John Overstreet Mathews b 2-26-1860 d 5-1-1946 married Lula Marian Medlock b10-16-1866 d 8-18-1895 they had 2 daughters Mamie b1888 Mary b1890 Lula died in Aug of 1895... In the 1900 census for Screven county lists John O. and Georgia E. Mathews with the 2 daughters. Married 4 years, putting the marriage in 1896. easy enough so far.. 2 marriages right?? The death certificate for John Mathews lists Ellie Howard Mathews as his wife. I have 7 letter written in 1896 from John to Ellie. Joh was living in Sardis at the time. The letters talk of a impending wedding between the 2. I dont think John was that much of a cad. Ok, now after you read all of that... I think Georgia and Ellie are the same person. I just cant find any proof. I cannot find a grave or obit for Georgia. Does anyone have access to marriage records for april thru sept of 1896?? Can anyone find a reference of Georgia Howand marrying John Mathews??? I know that it is along shot that anyone can help. But the longer I sit here trying to decipher these letters the more curious I get. thanks bunches Barb Id472@aol.com

    2. Lynne, I've done a book on this family for my cousins, Joe and Larry Evans, who are direct descendants of Kate and Buddy Evans also. Anyway, the book is at the Statesboro Regional Library and is in with the Zeigler Family. If you can't make it there, let me know, and I will make some copies for you and snail-mail them to you.
