One of the branches of my family tree the Tanksley branch prints out 8 pages with legal size paper and 18 pages with letter size paper. There is a reunion the weekend of the August 11th, and I was hoping to create a poster size family tree for it. Because of all of the printed pages for the tree, I have no idea how I can do something like that. Can anyone HELP, please? :-) :-) Thanks, Cynthia >> Cynthia - you will have the complete copy of the whole tree on your screen showing the dividing strips. After printing, you will have to use your paper cutter to trim off a bit on one side or the other for a perfect match up, but it works well. I have done some very large ones. Use scotch tape on the back side (or front) and smooth it down with your finger nails or a dull knife to be sure it is well fastened. Good luck. Judy

No problem
Karen, I dont know which version of Family Tree you have, but with the 7.5 you can move the boxes around if you like. Atleast thats what the book says, I havent had a need to try it yet. Barb ID472@aol.com
Well Cynthia... I printed out ONE tree it was 17 pages long by 3 pages wide. The only thing I could figure to do was break out the paper trimmer and tape. It really wasnt that hard and didnt take as long as I thought it would. Its kinda long but rolls easily for storage. Barb
Hello, Carole, Someone told me of an academy in that area that included not only teachers of Latin and Greek but also of Hebrew. Many early schools throughout the U.S. were assisted by Masonic lodges. The Lodge would build a two story frame building and use the upper story for a lodge hall; the lower floor was made available to churches that could not afford their own structure and also to schools. One of those old buildings, restored, is included in the 1850's village of Westville, located at Lumpkin, Ga. One of the first schools in Valdosta was such an arrangement. In a park on the edge of Chinatown in San Francisco there is a bronze plaque with the Masonic square and compasses stating, if I remember correctly, that that was the site of the first public school in California. Good evening list. I ran across a reference to a "CHARLESTOWN ACADEMY" recently and wondered if anyone had any history they might provide on this school. It was put together by the surrounding planters of the Cameron, Halycondale, Dover area in the southern part of the county (Screven County, across the Ogeechee River from Bulloch County, GA) sometime during the early 1800's, and may have actually begun at the 'old Mike Young, later Henderson place'. Names connected with this academy: Young, Henderson, Cooper, Evans, and perhaps many more, but at this juncture I can only speculate. Carole Farr Drexel gdrexel1@airmail.net

It is fire time here in the West. Southern Idaho has a brown haze in the air from the smoke of all the fires in Idaho, Oregon, Nevada and UTah. Some spectacular sunsets though. We have a 10,000 acre fire on the Forest on the Utah/Idaho border. Hope to have out tomorrow sometime. Glad that I am a lowly engineer and have to stay in the office tracking projects. Fire duty on 100 + degree days is not fun. Dear Deborah, I guess I had better unsubscribe for two weeks starting Wednesday, August 2nd, as we are coming south for vacation. Thanks for the reminder. I'll pick up on the list when we get back. Cyndi Kinkel RpKSaiL6@aol.com
Haave any descendants of the above soldiers attempted to compile service records for either? I find that Walter may have been a Lieutenant and Dusseign (Tussing?) received a commission for a captaincy of the militia. Finally, other than Dixon Hollingsworth, who has written a good history of the Bethany Colony and the early Blue Bluff community? Thanks.
Bill Reeves and I are both looking for info on them. James Henry Lee was born about 1866 died 5-31-34. It's his father that we'd like info on, don't even have a first name for sure but it could be Charles Henry Lee. We were told he drowned on ship coming from Ireland leaving his wife Mary Lee with an infant son born between Charleston SC and Savannah GA. Mary married a Murry and then a Hanlon she died 2-14-1901 aged 60 yrs My grandfather was James Henry Lee's only child with Sarah Mozelle Colson. His name was William Shepard Lee---he was the owner and gatekeeper at Turner's Creek Bridge on the way to Tybee. Have a lot on Colson but nothing on that first Lee. Any help appreciated. Randy, I see you're researching Reeves. I am wondering if you have my g-g-g-grandmother, Barbara (Barbary) Reeves, in your files. She married William McElvy in 1799. They have been found in Burke Co, GA in 1802, then in Tattnall Co, GA in 1820 and then in Decatur Co, GA in 1830. She died there in the Bainbridge area in 1838. I have extensive info regarding descendants, but nothing about her ancestry. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
