Cosper, Ellaville I like old people, I like to look in their sweet faces And see the lines of courage, Faith, and determination Which life so deeply imprints But never erases. Standing on the brink, Looking back on Tasks well done; Resigned, waiting For the crown they Have won. I like young people So dashing and adventurous, So full of gayety and life Eager, ambitious, impatient, To seize their task And carry on Regardless of toil And strife Hats off to youth! I love little children, I love their little tousled heads and freckled noses, The little smiles that Show a missing tooth And cheeks as red As roses I love their childish stories, So full of imagination Their heartaches, too, Are so real, No one knows the hurt A child can feel, Yet just an encouraging Smile--and all is forgiven, For these I bow my head, In one earnest petition, Dear God make worthy of the love Of little children.
