    3. Hi everyone, My name is Wendy Howard, and I've volunteered to administer this mailing list today. I see there is no archive for this list at the moment - that means that no-one has posted to the list since it was reinstated earlier this month, so I'm here to start the ball rolling. If this is the first that you've heard the Rootsweb mailing lists are back, you may like to check out the information on the Rootsweb home page ( http://rootsweb.com/) and follow the link under the 6 March 2018 update to set up your new login for the mailing lists. This is not compulsory, but it will allow you to check and change your settings. If you're subscribed to lists with more than one address, you can combine them under one login once it's set up for the first email address. I don't have a connection as such to the Garvin name, but I have Girvan ancestors, which sounds very similar. My 3x-great grandmother Elizabeth GIRVAN (c.1810 Belfast Ireland - 1892 Queenstown New Zealand) was the daughter of John GIRVAN (c.1780-?) and Margaret ADAMS (?-1848) who were married in 1802 in Larne, Ireland. I have no idea at this point in time how busy this list used to be - the old posts will be made available in the list archive when the staff are able to get to it, there's a long list of things to be done to get Rootsweb back to what it used to be, so have patience on that. Meanwhile, please feel free to get back to posting here about your queries and connections concerning the Garvin name. Kind Regards, Wendy Howard Kaiwaka, New Zealand

    2. Thanks Wendy! I used to use this often, but when the info grew stale, I stopped. Looking forward to having this available again. So good of you to volunteer your time.
