Hawkins, 76, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House. Amy was born March 29, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio (Muskingum County) to the late Eugene and Dorthy (Fox) Garvin. She served in the United States Army before coming home to start a family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to raising her four sons by herself. Following her passion to work with handicapped children Amy served as a teacher's aide at Muskingum County Starlight School in Zanesville, Ohio for 23 years. She is survived by sons, Gary (Celeste), Mark (Nicki), Roger (Linda) and Randy Hawkins; grandchildren, Chad and Craig Hawkins, Andrea Hanover, Billie Jo Deal, Ann and John Hawkins, and seven great-grandchildren and one brother, John Mikolajcik of CA. No service will be observed and cremation has been chosen per Amy's wishes. Condolences may be expressed at burrellfuneralservices.com.
