    3. I believe the Carl Kim refers to is Carl Wister GARRISON who is a 37-marker match (genetic distance 4) to my 3rd cousin, Dana GARRISON. Both are in the GARRISON project under the Missouri GARRISONS. All of us connect back to Stafford and Albemarle County, Virginia (a veritable hotbed of GARRISONS) but none of have connected definitively to my 3ggf John GARRISON b. 1799/1800 who married Elizabeth THOMPSON in Crawford Co., MO. 1826. Also in our project is Melford GARRISON whose ancestor is James Herschel GARRISON (who married Maria SULLIVAN). James and Maria had a daughter Sarah who married the son of my 3ggf John GARRISON. Dana and Melford are a 37-marker match with a genetic distance of 2. Carl is the uncle of another Virginia researcher that I’ve been working with daily for about a year now. He descends from Moses b. 1774 Stafford Co., VA. and is a match to my Dana. Both have done SNP tests and refined their haplogroup to PH2591. It appears those in the Missouri section relate back to William Henry GARRISON b. 1743 who married Duannah/Hannah ? but we’ve never proven the parentage of William. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Yvonne Bowers Listmom, Boardmom, Webmom <ybowers@gmail.com> GARRISON, GARRETSON, GARRISON-DNA "Most Wanted" http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~yvonne/garrison.html Yvonne's Rootsweb Resource Page http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~yvonne/ > On Aug 17, 2017, at 12:00 AM, garrison-dna-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > Message: 4 > Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2017 18:44:32 -0500 > From: Tracy garrison <tracy@lpopranch.com <mailto:tracy@lpopranch.com>> > To: <garrison-dna@rootsweb.com <mailto:garrison-dna@rootsweb.com>> > Subject: Re: [GARRISON-DNA] Virginia Garrisons > Message-ID: <005601d316e9$9c75c030$d5614090$@lpopranch.com <mailto:005601d316e9$9c75c030$d5614090$@lpopranch.com>> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > > I would love to help as I am one of the administrators of the Garrison DNA > Project (Garrison Compass). 3. Thank you everyone for your information. I am glad that Yvonne identified my father. I need to get his kit number from my aunt. It's great to see from the FTDNA chart that a lot of people tested with the 111 marker DNA test. My Landes family went as high as 67, but no family member tried 111. Now what do the purple, light blue and pink 2-digit squares indicate? I don't quite understand the Garrison Compass project. It sounds like all projects have now been combined or is it still separate? Is anything else needed from me or my father? Please bear with me as I am only now learning about the Garrison DNA projects. Kim D.
