Hi, Can you tell me where you found the 1820 census of Portage County, OH? I've been looking for a Joseph Garrison and his son, William. Rumor has is that Joseph came from Ireland as a stowaway with his son, William. We know William was born abt. 1811 they both came over when William was around 7 yrs. old. That would mean the boat ride would have happened around 1818 or so. We also know William and maybe Joseph lived in or near Pa or VA.(or maybe both) prior to settling in Portage County, OH. William married Elizabeth Kelsey born in Va. and then settled in Portage County. Their first child was born in 1833 in Portage County so William might not be on the 1820 census yet but I sure would like to check it out.
