MY GR AUNT TOLD ME THAT THAT HER GRANDFATHER, JOHN GEORGE BROWN, TOLD HER HE WAS HALF INDIAN. THEY WERE TREATED VERY BADLY WHEN THEY WENT TO TOWN. PEOPLE CALLED THEM (THE CHILDREN) THE BREED. PEOPLE DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL THEM HALF BREEDS. THEY WERE SO SHAMED THAT THEY NEVER REPORTED ANY PLACE THAT THEY WERE PART INDIANS.
