Hi! So you have a copy of the bond document that Shadrach signed for the marriage of Susanna King and Benjamin Garrison? It was has been believed that Benjamin was Shadrach's son! Garrison genealogist Sam Garrison (who died a year ago in April) believed that my Paul GArrison...also in Barren Co., Ky., had a son Benjamin..but I have not proven that..he did have 3 boys under 16 in his Pendleton Co., SC 1790 census. Very interesting that he signed that "his oncle." What makes you think that Benjamin is a son of James Garrison? Sam always believed that Shadrach was a son of my Paul Garrison until maybe 6 months before he died when he decided Shad was his. I asked him why and he had no new evidence. Just thought he was. He always liked Shad...said he wished he was in his line....... I thought it possible that Shadrach WAS a son of Paul's because Paul had a half brother Shadrach and I thought naming a son for his brother would be likely. He also came to Barren Co., Ky., where Paul and his son Edmund were living. Paul paid taxes on the land in 1804 or 06...and Edmund paid taxes on it in 1810. There was a couple living in Edmund's household of an age to be his parents...And in 1820 Paul was living next door to Edmund in Smith Co., Tn. census. A cousin, Karen, told me about the Walker Line, the boundary line between Kentucky and Tennessee and how often it was moved, and that perhaps Paul and Edmund did not move at all from Barren Co., but the Walker Line moved and put them in Smith Co. I have not had time to follow up on this. Sam also told me once that I was related to a James GArrison........but I don't know about that either......... Why do you think this Mark Garrison is actually Shadrach and where did you find him and when was it? I am very interested in all this and hope to hear from you re: Shad.......Perhaps I am wrong about Shadrach being Paul's son....I have not found anything to say one way or the other...... but I sure am interested!
