    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.garrison/3515.1.2.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am working on this for a friend and have requested the Stephen Garrison copy. My friends grandfather was Ira Hitson born 22 Sep 1880, died 26 Nov 1920, in a coal mining accident. His death certificate list Mary Smith as his Mother and Silas as his father. This is backed up by the census resource already posted. This 1880 census was take before Sept so Mary would have been pregnant It only has Silas, 1874, and James 1877 as siblings. Ira Hitson an one of his sons Silas Willard,06 Apr 1916, are buried in the Gray Rock Cemetary, Franklin County. This is the same cemetary where Silas III is buried. Also the 1920 Franklin County census list Ira Hitson and his family. I H Garison 35 Malley ( Mollie) Garison 31 Flora Garison 11 Velva Garison 8 Clyde Garison 6 Willard Garison 3 8/12 Etta Garison 6/12 (1920 census-Russelville, Franklin County)____ Check out my last post, I did put census resource in my post.---------- One thing I have noticed in the census on all of these people is that few have the same age more than once, However, in the 1870 census , and 1880 census Silas age computes with 1852. Ira Hitson married Mollie Fenwick in WInston County. (Winston County Marriages Volume 2 (1900 - 1908) P. 150) Garrison, "Sam" Fenwick, Mollie August 16, 1903 Interesting that he was called Sam. More about the census and children in the next post. Melissa
