Somewhere I read a post of an 1860 census giving his age as 11. I think that math confirms a birth year of 1849. I have a genealogy report of his dad and Nemencia's marriage date as 1846. If those dates correspond correctly, Silas the III was born after that marriage, and he would be a birth son, not adopted. I do not have a the actual marriage date; which I think would be good to know for sure. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
