My Peter (Per) Garrison was born in Ky 01 Jan 1800 son of Jonathan Ewell Garrison and Elizabeth Raney. I know he moved to Arkansas sometime, but have no further info on him. For nearly 3 years I have been trying to break through a wall with the Peter T. Garrison in my family. The only record of his existence that I have is the 1850 Arkansas census from Ozan, Hempstead County. In this record it states he was born in 1800 in North Carolina. His wife Zelphia was born in 1808 in TN. Their children were - Lorana J. Garrison (b.1830 in AR), Amanda A. Garrison (b.1834 in AR), Elisabeth Garrison (b.1835 in Argenta AR), William R. Garrison (b. 1838 in MO),Wiley A. Garrison (b. 1840 in TX), and Thomas J. Garrison (b. 1842 in TX). Amanda Adeline Garrison married William Louis Thomas in Bois d'Arc, Hempstead County, AR in 01 Jan 1848 when Amanda was 14. They had two boys, James Jasper Thomas (b. Oct 1848 in AR) and Henry Louis Thomas (b. 1851 in AR). Amanda Garrison and William Thomas are my g-g-g Grandparents. Does anyone have any information on a Peter Garrison in their family? I've seen some James Jasper Garrison names out there so I was wondering if maybe Amanda was naming her son after a relative? I just haven't been able to find anything on Peter T. Garrison anywhere.
