An outright refusal to acknowledge the french lines' long claimed heritage has finally been received from Project Admin., John Wesley Garrison, Jr. of IL. So who is handling this clandestine research effort to transfer the existing Montauban lineages away from the NJ/NC/KY/OK/MO lines, ostensibly to the Moses Garrison 1737 bunch or perhaps, another DNA pattern? What are the findings so far? Now deceased researchers, Juanitas Irene Peddicord and Quinlian Garrison are sadly not here to defend their research. Anyone who has read their extensive correspondence filed in Clayton Library, Houston, TX would see that they left no stone unturned. Please post any information here, which supports this incredible shocker that the Isaac Garrison Association lineage (and associated DNA patterns including, Old David of Mecklenburg NC line, and my own David Sr and wife Hanna __________ (parents of David Jr (1789/1814) and wife, Hannah CLEVER) ] is being erased altogether, pre 1732... Hopefully the Isaac Garrison Association's (IGA) planned new book (2007?) will have some documentation in it, but it was my understanding that space limitations impaired inclusion of materials predating Isaac Garrison 1732. It is unknown if the IGA or Edwanna Garrison Chenault of KY, is involved in this rewriting of their own heritage or not. Please clue me into the loop. Thanks. Dee Bardes in Cincy.

She published an article in The New Jersey Genesis, article titled "Abraham Garrison Of Cumberland County ,New Jersey, and some of his descendants," 58 - 71. I was skeptical at first but after sending off for various articles I agree with Mrs. Miller. Isaac "David" Garrison was the son of Abraham Garrison and mother is still unknown. Abraham E Garrison ---------------------------------------- Birth: 5 Oct 17761 Death: 18 May 1837, Decatur Co., Indiana Father: Abraham Garrison (1749-) Mother: Lydia Wilson (~1750-) Abraham had a child born in 1797, presumably by a first wife. I am curious as to the "Preston" For John P Garrison's middle name. Do you by chance have anything that verifies it to be . I am a descendant of John P Garrison. Hope this helps. Susie Susie

His father, David GARRISON or GARRISSON Senior and lost wife Hanna ___________ are still elusive...despite persistent efforts...So, your David Garrison lines also interest me. We need the Ohio GARRISONs/GARRETSONs sorted out badly, so any help is appreciated. The problem is that no GARRISON male has come forward from your DNA pattern, so we haven't been able to prove or disprove who your oldest known ancestor, Jeremiah GARRISON at Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, Salem County New Jersey, is... Much research has been done defining your line, so you are blessed...Please help to find two men from two different disparate branches of your Jeremiah descendancy to participate in the major DNA effort at www.familytreedna.com. About 50-70 men with the surname of GARRISON or GARRETSON have tested so far.... On your own line, Mr. Cliff Anderson wrote: "My line of Garrison came from Salem NJ, David William Garrison b. 1767 m. Rebecca Van Meter, David was the son of Joel Garrison & Catherine DuBois & Joel was the son of Jeremiah Garrison & Mary Van Meteren, David & Rebecca's Children were: Gamaliel Garrison b. January 13, 1800 James Madison Garrison b. Abt. March 31, 1804 John VanMeter. Garrison b. Abt. March 30, 1805 Nehemiah Garrison b. abt 1810" [November 2003 posting on Salem Co NJ Rootsweb message board by Cliff Anderson] Could this James Madison Garrison b. abt 1804 be your James M. Garrison, husband of Mary SLOAN? Let us know. Sharon Callanan, also wrote of James M. Garrison. She wrote: "Hello, Cliff. I would be interested in further info on James Madison Garrison and his family as I am tracing not only the families of my direct Garrison ancestors but the children of their siblings. I found a James M. Garrison, aged 45, living in 13 N R 3 W, Mercer Co., Illinois, in 1850. (U.S. Federal Census, microfilm M432_120, p. 356, image #546) He seems to be a good match for Gamaliel Garrison's brother James Madison Garrison. There was a James M. Garrison, aged 35, living at the time in Ohio. But I think perhaps he is too young to have been James Madison Garrison son of David. If interested, I have info on the families of John V.M. Garrison and Nehemiah Garrison, which I gathered from census records." [Sharon Callanan's Jan 2004, posting on same Salem Co NJ, Rootsweb message board] Read the other old postings which tie together the VANMETER, GARRISON, DUBOIS, BILDERBACH families with Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church. Clark County Ohio Historical Society does show property (on a plat there) owned by a David Garrison of your line (I believe) --my own POOLE line who married my GARRISON line also owned property in Harmony Township Clark County, Ohio (but it was not adjacent to what seems to be your line....). Thanks for helping with finding a few cousins to be DNA participants -- Write to John Wesley Garrison Jr in Illinois for further DNA info. DNA kits make great holiday presents! Thanks. Your DNA results may show you to be related to my line of early Montauban, France (we think in 2006) or John's line of Oldenburg, Germany or ??? Dee Bardes in Cincinnati.

Hi John, I do not recognize any of the names you listed...unfortunately! My Richard C Garrison Sr was living in Arkansas with his in-laws (Henry Dunton). I am at work and don't have all the dates, names, etc. but I am fairly sure I am not related to the line you mentioned. Thanks for the reply...and happy hunting. Richard Garrison
