Author: bcarola Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.garrison/3551.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: All lines count, might not be the one that we've thought that we belonged to for years but with the testing at least we are able to find out who we do come from! I just wished our older folks would have thought about giving us a brake two hundred years later and not named every line with a John,Thomas,William,James,David,Benjamin and used a little more thought and left wills naming their children and their spouses. Now, is this asking to much! bet they are turning over in their graves just thinking about their crazy descendants spending all of this money trying to find out who they were. You should be doing everything you can to locate a direct male descendant of your line for Dna testing. Go to http//www.familytreedna.com . Type in Garrison for the project search and you will find the Garrisons' Compass Project. Email the Administrator either at that site or one of the other Administrators at the additional website the Project is running. If all else fails just type in Garrisons Compass in your browser. Someone there will help you. Go for it!!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. What is the Garrison Compass and where are the references to it? Our line from William Garrison, born 02, October,1830 in Hart County, KY, probably doesn't count but it is interesting to know what's going on. 2. Hi List I am sorry but I must have missed a post on this Garrison Truth?? that follows What is this about? Message Board Post: Author: LadyGarrison Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.garrison/3551/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Not much is being said on here about it. Some long held beliefs are being shaken by Dna studies (science that doesn't have emotion or lie). Some of us are Garrison, some have the name and are not from the very beginning of it, some are and have lost the name. Be proud of who you are, who you are not and especially who you will become. It's time to start talking about the truth on the Garrison Board. Let's sort it out in spite of it all. We'll be much happier and truthful to ourselves. The person I love most is not named Garrison. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

John M. Garrison married Lina May Bosier in 1893. John's parents were Calvin L. Garrison (1848-1916) and wife Delia (Unknown). I have been unable to find the parents of Calvin, but he was likely related to the other Garrisons of Clinton County who came there from the Tuckahoe area of Gloucester (now Atlantic) County, New Jersey. 3. Hello, Daphne Garrison from Daphne [Garrison] Richey. Contact me at: drichey@xplornet.com Daphne N. Richey -----Original Message----- From: garrison-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:garrison-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Daphne Garrison Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 1:29 PM To: GARRISON@rootsweb.com Subject: [GARRISON] Richard F Garrison, b 1877 (Sorry for the crosspost... will be posting to the VA-Albemarle list also) Hi everyone, I'm looking for the parents of Richard F (Franklin?) Garrison, b. 1877, m. to Sarah Agnes Beddow.. His grave is shown here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~langolier/ivy_creek.html . I believe his wife was Sarah Agnes Beddow. I found him in the 1900 census. I found a few Richard Garrisons in the 1880 census but I don't believe they are him (for various reasons.... I plan to do a case-by-case look at the Richard Garrisons in the 1880 census in Virginia tonight to verify my hunch). I bet the answer is staring me in the face, and I haven't exhausted all avenues of research, but was hoping someone already researched his family. Thanks for any help!
