    2. I think the parents were Mary Grissom and James C Garrison. They were married in Christian , Kty Sept 17, 1800. There was another JamesGarrison in Barren County Kty who married Mary Grissum in Jefferson , Tenn. 1n Sept 1797. The book on Isaac Garrison lumps all the Garrisons in Kentucky together. They ignore the Marriage on Sep 17 1800. I have not been able to prove my finding. I have looked so long for a will or something. Arthur was born in Kentucky. William and James Chesley were born in Tenn.. James Chesley Married Rebecca Martindau of Jonathan Martin. They were in Hardin, Tenn in 1840. I surewould appreciate a lead. Alna

    3. Sallie; Don't mean to butt in but a friend of mine, named Elizabeth, was always called Edy because that is what her little sister called her. There could be other short forms. You may have covered that ground already but it might be worth looking into if you haven't as yet. Daphne N. My problem is that I can't find Edy Garrison who m. Preston Payne. I descend from Matthew Payne Jr., through his son, Preston, then Preston's daughter, Millie, then her son, Joseph Samples, and then through my father, Jim Samples. Preston apparently married two different Garrisons: Malinda in about 1838 and then Edy in 1841. I assume that Malinda died, perhaps in childbirth. The problem is that I can't find an Edy of the right age. She would have been born in 1822. Given the close association between the Garrisons and Paynes, it is unlikely that she belonged to a different Garrison family in the same area. Do you have any information? Thanks, Sallie <clip>
