    1. Cheek cell scrapings from Gerrit SEGERS's sons' (Lambert, Seger, Frederick GERRITSEN/GARRISON) lines Needed for DNA test
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Segers Gerritsen Garrison Morgan Garrisson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mEY.2ACEB/2043 Message Board Post: Please email me if you know of a male willing to help establish the Y chromosone of the Gerrit SEGERS' (b. about 1620) line -- Older researcher candidates (or brothers of) are preferred. Test kit will be provided to serious participant able to solidly trace back to Gerrit SEGERS/SEGARS son, Lambert GARRISON, or his brothers Seger or Frederick. You only have to scrape the inside of your cheek, two times, and lots of info is available from research company. See William Pollard Garrison's surname project, under GARRISON, at http://www.familytreedna.com/ Participants from other well defined GARRISON lines are also sought. Please Buy test kits for the holiday for any cousins you can- For about $100, you can find out if your line connects to another line (then you can order add on tests for extra money later) --but more participants are needed so a Y pattern of established lines can be defined... Women who can trace via their female line, i.e. your mom, her mom, her mom, her mom, her mom to the Gerrit SEGERS line are also encouraged to write. I am not a scientist, so please see that web site cited above for technical info...

Surnames: Garrison, Russell, Pinkerman, Smith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mEY.2ACEB/2042 Message Board Post: I am seeking information concerning Ethel "Etta" Russell Pinkerman Garrison and her daughter Florence "Flossie" Ethel Pinkerman Smith. Florence, listed as “Flossie” Pinkerman, age 8, is listed in the 1900 Census of Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. They are boarding at 1924 Grand Avenue with a Kathleen Myers, age 37 and her son, George Flemings, age 20. In the Census, her birth date is listed as September 1891, the place of her birth Kansas and the birthplace of her father as Pennsylvania. Ethel/Etta is listed as Etta Garrison, age 25, a widow, born in September 1874 in Illinois and both of Etta’s parents are listed as born in Illinois. Apparently, Etta or Ethel had been married and widowed twice by the age of 25. She likely remmarried since I did not find her in the 1910 Census of Missouri as Etta Garrison. Flossie/Florence married Lankford Pargo Smith on 16 December 1906 in Tarrant Co., Texas. Lankford, age 28, his wife Florence E., age 18, and daughters Bonnylyn, age 2, and Etta Mae, age four months, are listed as boarders in the household of Elizabeth H. Gammon in the 1910 Census for Fort Worth. In this Census, the birthplace of Florence’s father is listed as Missouri, which is different than the 1900 Census

Is there a listing of the 6 children born to him and Sarah Moore? I am looking for Lura J. Garrison born in Texas Feb of 1863. Her mother was born in Illinois as Sarah would have been. Lura married William Franklin Lowe in Dallas County on Feb 4 of 1880. And they are listed in the Mesquite directory for 1880. This should have been near Scyene. Lura had a brother named "Mannie." There is a John M. Garrison listed in Volume 2, Marriages of Dallas County Texas by the Dallas Genealogical Society when he married Hattie Haas (July 11, 1882). Do you have any idea if John M Garrison or Lura J. Garrison are children of James Benjamin Garrison?

    3. Dear Mr. Sims: I am not positive about the family line but there was a Johannas (John Garrison) who started out in the states and later moved to Ontario. However, the time line is an issue. John's family came to America in the 1640's but he went to Ontario during the Rev. war. I am a descendant of his brother's family and I do not have any direct line going back to John. If someone is familiar with John Garrison, born. ca. 1740, grandson of Peter Garrison, born 1676, then they might possibly be the direct descendants.
