Rev John Jr is the son of Rev John Gerrard b. c1720 in Frederick, VA, d. 17 Aug 1787 in Gerrardstown, WV. John Sr is my g-g-g-g-great grandfather. (Looking for info on his ancestry) John Jr married Susanna (Susan) Van Meter c1758. They arrived in Severns Valley in Hardin Co KY in the spring of 1780. He was part of a party led by Jacob Van Meter. The colony in Severns Valley consisted of about 100 men, women and children. In 1781, this group built the Severns Valley Baptist Church (organized 17 Jun 1781) and Rev John Gerrard was its first pastor. In March of 1782, John Jr went hunting and never returned.
