    2. Estellene Eltha Newby Sills b. May 7, 1917 TX— d. April 16, 2004 CO Estellene Eltha Newby Sills of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, died Friday, April 16, 2004. She was 86 and suffered a stroke. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Rifle Funeral Home, 1400 Access Road, in Rifle. A memorial service held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, at the First Assembly of God Church, 55 E. 5th St. in Rifle, with the Rev. Joe Berry officiating. > > Burial followed at “Rose Hill Cemetery” in Rifle, Colorado. Pallbearers: Mark Sills, Nate Sills, Shawn Sills, Shad Sills, Shane Sills and Jack Brown Sills; Honorary Pallbearers: Dale Neffendorf, Kevin Wilkerson, Steve Caple and Sergei Schegole. Mrs. Estellene Eltha Newby Sills was born May 7, 1917, in Stephens County, Texas, to Mary Effie Reed and Franklin H. Newby, whom are buried in Tucumcari, N, M. Este married Jack Brown Sills on Aug. 23, 1937, in Tucumcari, N.M., and they spent 66 happy years together. Este was a homemaker and lived in Glenwood Springs, Colorado for the past 30 years of her life. She was a member of the local Assembly of God Church. She loved doing crafts with her children and grandchildren, and always had a beautiful garden and yard. She was a complete outside person, and loved to go camping, fishing and traveling with her husband and family. Este was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Newby; and by a sister, Beatrice Newby de Valera. Mrs. Sills is survived by her husband, Jack Brown Sills of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; by her sons and daughters-in-law Jack R. and Anita Sills of Glenwood Springs, Newby L. and wife Maria Sills of Rifle, Ronnie and wife Joye Sills of Steamboat Springs, and Jimmy and wife Sue Sills of Glenwood Springs; by a brother, James Newby of Texas; by sisters Juanita Nix of Arizona and formerly of Texas, Muriel Spears of Nevada, and Lou Ella “Sugar” Fitzner of Palisade, Colorado; and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
