Dear Cysee, I have know clue where he fits in to the tree puzzel but I have a strong feeling he does. The info I am giving you is only clues to follow. They also may be a little confusing. I was a little confused making my notes. I have not found any Garrard-Clark marriages but I have found 4 Clarks married into families married to Garrards. The families that link to Clark are Stephens, Cowsert, Shipp and Baxter. The Clark name along with the rest all appear around Pasis, Bourbon Co., Ky. at some point. The Clarks seen to have lived in W. V. and Ky. and some children moved to Missouri and San Fransico. Names of interest, Joseph Stephens of Bourbon Co., Ky. had a daughter Ella Louise Stephens B. abt. 1833 and she married an Elijah Clark. There son Carleton Hamilton Clark moved to San Francisco but there other son, Edward Stephens Clark, Born 9/10/1856 stayed in Paris, Bourbon Co. Ky. There is also a marriage of a John Laban Cowsert married to an unknown Clark. My 2rd GGM was Sarah Shipp that married the Gov's grandson, my 2rd GGF James Garrard and her father was Laban Shipp. The Laban names comes from him. The Coweserts married into the Garrard line. I also found a Clark married to a Baxter. My 2nd GGM was Hettie Baxter that married my GGF William Wallace Garrard. Code, from Gov.son John Mountjoy Garrard. Terry Lee Garrard, Sr. Cinti.
