Hi Sandi and others I have been watching and receiving your GARRARD emails now for some time and note that you always refer to Garrards in America. My grandmother was Esther Garrard (b 1857)and came from London, England. Her father Thomas Collins GARRARD (b 1813) was from Norfolk, England as was his father James GARRARD (b c1775). I would be interested to know whether your ancestors originated from England or whether they are from a completely different lineage. Hi Vivienne: We are probably from the same family. Our old Garrards, being Hugnenots, escaped France between 1670 and 1700, going to England, according to the book GOVERNOR GARRARD OF KENTUCKY His Descendants and Relatives, by Anna Russell Des Cognets. Pierre (Peter) Garrard, apparently was the one who fled France with his wife. I'll have to bone up on this more but couldn't find your people in my FTM. I hope this helps some.
