    2. Hi Cincinnati Terry: I'd like to see the family line code move over to our smartgroups.com site. In my Maupin family we identify ourselves, when needed as being from the family of, in my case John Maupin~Frances Dabney. I think the same thing will work with our Garrard family. But, I'd like to think on it for a time and hear what other family have to say. Cousin Sandi

    1. [GARRARD] Hi Cousins
    2. I have been thinking it might be a big help to each other to use a family line I D code of where we come from in the Garrard Line. Do to the repeat of names I feel we need two levels, Wm. Garrard's, B. abt 1713 Listed as Col. and James Garrard's B. 1748 Listed as Governor. Members from Col. William Garrard would code Col. Daniel, (James's would list under Gov. code), Col. Mary Ann, Col. William, Col. would also code Elizabeth, Henry, Robert, and Eleanor if any went on to live to marry. Governor James Garrard's group would be coded Gov. Wm, Mountjoy, Gov. James Douglas, Gov. Mary Ann, Gov. John Mountjoy, Gov. Daniel, Gov. Elizabeth Mountjoy, Gov. Anne Eleanor, Gov. Margaret, and Gov. Maria. The other three childern died young. Let me know if you like this idea? Terry in Cinti.

    3. Sandi and all, I think, for the sake of privacy, people should not send me their street addresses over this list. I intend to email each subscriber to the former MyFamily.com Garrard site to: 1. explain what will be on the CD, 2. ask if they are interested in a copy of the CD, 3. confirm the street address on file for them, and 4. solicit updates, if required. Again, for the sake of privacy, I think these CDs should only be offered to people who were subscribers to the MyFamily.com Garrard site. That way we are not making a subscriber's personal information or the family data they contributed available to anyone they did not publish it to themselves. I think that if we want to offer a CD from the MyFamily.com Garrard site to the Garrard-L subscribers we have to remove all personal information and get permission from each contributor to publish their family data to members of the list. I don't see that anyone would deny permission, but they should be asked. I'd be willing to undertake the task of producing a second CD, but after we've completed the present one (i. e., getting copies of what was on the MyFamily.com site to it's participants). If we get to that point, I would announce to the list what would be on the CD and how much it would cost and, I would ask people to send me the money with their shipping address. Terry

    2. 1a. NSDAR VOLUNTEERS OFFER LOOKUPS. Do you think you might have an ancestor who served in the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783)? Would you like to know whether your ancestor is listed with the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) in its "Patriot Index"? A helpful group of NSDAR Volunteer "Genies" monitor the RootsWeb DAR Message Board every day and welcome lookup requests. Include your Revolutionary War-era ancestor's first and last name, spouse's name (if known), dates of birth, death, and state of residence when posting your lookup request. You need not be interested in joining the NSDAR to request a lookup. [Note: This is a 2-line URL] http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p= topics.organizations.dar
