    3. We bought a Dell that has windows 98 on it in 1999. We bought the scanner, printer speakers and mic and a lot of software came with it. I understand the Dell's are a lot cheaper now days than they were when we bought ours. Ours is a Pentium 3 and our daughter's mother in law was looking at one a couple of weeks ago that was a Pentium 4 and it was a lot cheaper than 1800.00. We have been happy with ours. Of course where you live and who your server is makes a lot of difference also. 2. Dear, Family I am about to buy a top brand new computer system. I love my old 1995 NEC but it is to old to keep up now days. To my cousin Terry in Flordia an all of my friends and family over the years, I want your imput as what to buy. I am talking about $1800 with a 3 way printer. Once I get this new computer can anyone sent me the newest copy of FTM. I was sent it back on your request. Once I get this new computer and software. I will burn my twenty year file of the Garrards. My hope is to find a way that you don't have to have buy FTM to read it to offer it to you. I may have found a way to put it out on paper but it will take more work. The phone book size print out of the Garrard roots may prove costly to ship on top of printing cost. The file has over 10,000 names and all the lines includeng some of Rev. John Gerard's that may be a cousin or unlce to the Garrard line. Terry Lee Garrard Sr.

    3. My Dear Sandi, My Love and Prayers are with you and your Family, God Bless you all! Some Call it Heaven, now Len calls it HOME! I wrote a poem to my Family to be found upon my death, (it is in my strongbox.) Since none of them subscribe to this site, they will not see it, however, I would love to share it with you now, in the hopes that it will bring you some measure of peace in your loss of your Beloved Husband. To My Beloved Family Jesus is my Everything On Him I can rely, He picks me up when I fall down And holds me when I cry. He soothes my broken spirit And heals me from within, He hold me safely in His Arms And lets me sleep in them. He lifts my spirits when I'm down He takes away my fear, Someday soon I'll be with HIM So shed for me no tears! Written by Jane Steen Chiarizia for her Family.

    1. Our Prayers
    2. Dear Sandi, You are in our thoughts and prayers. WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today While thinking of the many things we didnt get to say I know how much you love me, as much as 1 love you And each time you think of me I know you'll miss me too But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand And said my place was ready in heaven far above And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye For all my life, I'd always thought I didn't want to die I had so much to live for, and so much yet to do It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad If I could relive yesterday, I thought for just awhile I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile But then I fully realized that this could never be For emptiness and memories would take the place of me And when I thought of worldly things that I'd miss come tomorrow I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow But when I walked through "Heaven's Gates" I felt so much at home When God looked down and smiled at me from His "Great Golden Throne" He said, "This is eternity and all I've promised you Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew I promise no tomorrows on earth to anyone So many live each day so sure of seeing one more sun Yet, each one knows that I will call and no one knows just when But they never stop to pray and ask forgiveness for their sin And many I have turned away so sad at Heaven's Gate For when I called they weren't prepared and it was much too late But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free So won't you come and take my hand and share my life with me" So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

Along with the copies of the court records sent to me there was a copy of an affidavit showing that Nathan Brawner was appointed guardian of Amelia's older daughters. This Brawner is probably the husband of Emelia after her first husband died. He is appointed guardain to her four daughters,Elizabeth, Amelia, Lydia and Sophia, there may have been other Langley children that were older and did not need an appointed guardian. Still do not know if Nancy was from her first family or was born a Brawner. Would love to have any info anyone is willing to share. Sug

    3. Dear Garrardians, I have nothing new. Sorry to spark your interest. I found that data from Joe McClure about Amelia Langley Brawner 's being the mother of Luther...it also mentions her daughters, but no other sons. It tells where the Langleys were from...Maryland. So this is a good place to look for Luther's father as he may have been born there. Good Luck in the search. Do you know anything about the Clay Co. KY Genweb site. I submitted data but it isn't on the site. Who is working on this, do you know? 3. Dear Garrard Researchers, A researcher is looking for her ancestor, Clinton Hooker, who supposely once worked with or for T. T. Garrard. Clinton was alive in Harlan Co. in 1930 but apparently was in Clay Co. many years earlier. I said I would ask you all if any clues. She is CharlotteAnneMlr@aol.com. Name is Charlotte Anne Miller. Meanwhile, has Rich Nallenweg received all the stuff about the Gabriel Price families and about Luther Brawner's forebears and Daniel Garrard's Wife #2 Atkins' life after Dan. And, meanwhile, my Brick Walls remain. If you have seen any clues to help me, please share: JAMES PRICE, son of Gabriel Price and Eliza Ann Garrard. Grandson of Daniel, lived with Eliza in 1900 census. Mex. War with TT Garrard and John Lucas. Maybe married Sarah Ann Jackon. Went for gold in CA. Returned, maybe several times. Maybe divorced Sarah Ann Jackson. An Enigma. His birth data on the 1900 census doesn't jive with brother, Daniel Price's tombstone birth date. Both are same year, but 4 months apart. Something is not right. Also. DANIEL GARRARD PRICE, above mentioned. Murdered in 1850. Dickey Diary names 2 murderers and a 3rd man was prosecuted by Lyttle as the request of Col. Daniel Garrard on behalf of grandson. Also. ROBERT F. PRICE. Another brother of James and Daniel, Another son of Eliza/grandson of Daniel. Returned to KY from Sonora CA, to fight for the South in Civil War. Captured in Manchester before he ever joined a unit [maybe on his front porch?] [is this an able soldier?] and imprisoned in Camp Chase, 100 miles away in Ohio. The commanding officer called him a 'dangerous spy". Disappears after this: No death notice, no burial information, no comment in Dickey, no nuthin'. I can't believe that Uncle TT for the Union or grandpa Col. Dan Garrard, couldn't have arranged a prisoner exchange, or brought his body back or... 1. Buried veterans' records now available on Web
    2. Buried veterans' records now available on Web By Suzanne Gamboa The Associated Press WASHINGTON - Sally Naporlee turned to the Department of Veterans Affairs to find out more about her grandfather, who served during World War I. After a few weeks wait for a response, Naporlee learned from the VA that Carmelo Castorina is buried at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. Unexpectedly, she also learned from VA that her grandmother is buried with him, a privilege extended to veterans' spouses. VA has made it easier and faster for the public to get answers about family history, old war buddies or famous war heroes. The agency put on the Web 3.2 million records for veterans buried at 120 national cemeteries since the Civil War. The VA's Nationwide Gravesite Locator, at http://www.cem.va.gov, also has records for some state veterans cemeteries and burials in Arlington National Cemetery since 1999. Joe Nosari, VA's deputy chief information officer for Memorial Affairs, said the records used to be on paper and microfilm. Private companies have put some of the information online and charged for it, but the VA information is free, he said. Naporlee, of Spokane, Wash., also learned her grandfather served with the Army's 161 DB unit, enlisting June 24, 1918. He was honorably discharged December 17, 1918. The VA's gravesite navigator includes names, dates of birth and death, military service dates, service branch and rank if known, cemetery information and grave location in the cemetery. The VA will withhold some information, such as next of kin, for privacy purposes. The site will be updated daily. Annually, about 80,000 veterans are buried at national cemeteries. The VA also hopes to add records for veterans whose families requested grave markers from the VA. Those markers may go to private cemeteries or cemeteries overseas. --- On the Net: VA Nationwide Gravesite Locator: http://www.cem.va.gov
