I'm looking for information about Mary Garrard, born about 1676, who married John Trammell in 1698 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. There seems to be quite a bit of information out there on the Trammell family, but nothing so far on the Garrards. Beverlee Stuart-Borok
Yes, I remember, I have visited Bert myself and think he is a wonderful person. I think the last time I was up there was about three years ago and he was off on vacation. I hope to get back that way this spring. Thank you Harold, No I am talking about the Older Daniel married to Toulmin line. I ask because they are all buried in Garrard on what was at the time the White land. I know that Daniel the older bought it. I have never found where it left Daniel and went to my Great Great Grand parents. Michael Horton and Catherine Frances Garrard ( Older Daniels Daughter) but I do know that Daniel gave the or sold not sure which but the great grands ended up with it. It must have been when it was built in 1834. Now you might be talking about Gen. T. T.'s son Daniel, but I believe he was shot and killed at the age of 25. disregard the other answer I sent out. I thought you were talking about when did Bert Stivers move there. Harold, When did Daniel move to the house that Bert lives in, do you know a date? I was thinking he lived in the old White house in Garrard for a while. I know that Will Horton and Nellie Layton lived there when all their children were born. To Ralph Bowling: Bertram Stivers himself told us that the house he lived in was built by Daniel Garrard in 1834. It is in Greenbriar just 3 miles from Manchester. The home that my father, his father and the Gen. T. T. Garrard lived in was sold by them and on to 2 or 3 others and those people we talked to in 1989. The house was torn down and Daniel Boone Parkway was built through there. The people that had last lived there built a house down below from the highway and we visited with the lady. She gave us some of the brick that came from the house. I have a list somewhere of the times it was sold. But that was Gen Theophulis Toulmin Garrard's house. The one Bertram Stivers lived in was Daniel's and Daniel was Theophulis Toulmin's father. I am on Overload with wondrous Holiday stuff. Please email me again after Christmas. I am eager to share my extensive family research. I have documented chronologies which often include clues and identified unproven data. The most thorough is for Daniel Garrard but I also have lots on James, T.T.and Eliza Anne Garrard, Daniel's oldest child and my grgrgrgrandmother. Also quite a bit on Hon. Dear Wiley, While I know my Garrard's from Col. William Garrard of Stafford Co. Va. in the 1740s line knew Rev. Gerrard of Berkeley Co. W. V.,I am not yet sure we are related. So of the Rev. 's off spring used the spelling Garrard. Go to the Gerrard rootsweb and ask Carol Gerrard to help you. Terry Lee Garrard Sr.

He married Sara Frances Cutler on 25 Nov 1914 at Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho.
Dear English Cousins, I have many lose end on English Garrard's. Some going back to 1500 England. Two of which were Lord Mayor's of London in the early 1500's. The Garrard's Jewelery Shop in London has been the Crown Jeweler.for 100's of years. My 5th GGF William Garrard claimed to be French Huguenot and shows up in Stafford Co, Virginia about 1740 with English roots. He was a man of wealth which makes it so hard to believe that the Garrard American family has yet to 100% find there English roots. It is also believed that a cousin of William's, Justin, came to the Carolina's in the mid 1700. Any help from over there in England would be appreciated. Terry Lee Garrard Sr.
