Obituary for Sarah Laird, Augusta Chronicle, June 27, 1995, p. 10A (paraphrased): Mrs. Sarah Anderson Laird, a native of Emmanuel County and formerly a resident of Richmond County, age 70, died in Reidsville, GA, Sunday, June 25, 1995. Funeral was June 27 at Rimes-Stewart Mortuary, Rev. Tim Lamb officiating. Burial was in Reidsville City Cemetery. Mrs. Laird was a member of the Abundant Faith Fellowship church. She was survived by her husband, Kline "Red" Laird; a daughter, Pat Kreiner, Brooksville, FL; five brothers, Lewis Lamb, Wadley; Leon Lamb, Columbia, SC; Emmitt Lamb, Swainsboro; Billy Lamb, La Grange; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. I can't find an obit for Mr. Laird after 1995. From the Augusta city directories: 1952 (first listing) Kline E. Laird, spouse Gladys S., carpenter, Dupont 1953-1956, Kline but no spouse 1957-1959, not listed 1960 and forward, Kline E. and Sarah A. (He was employed various places and home different locations, e.g. 1966, foreman at Augusta American Builders, home at 20 Taylor St.) spot checked, 1970, 75, 80, 85, 90, home at 942 Beman St., Kline was retired by 1985 but in 1990 he was in construction at Castleberry Foods. Some years he was listed as K.E. In 1990, Sarah's middle initial was M. That was the last entry. They were in the 1990-1991 Augusta phone directory but not thereafter. Hope this helps somebody.
