A second ancestor that I would like to talk to is my g-g-grandmother, Sarah Laura Wright, the daughter of John S. Wright and Mary Isabel Eve. At age 24 she married her father’s friend, Dr. Thomas S. Beckwith who was almost 60, and possibly from Richmond, Virginia. The marriage was performed on 27 June 1872 in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at the corner of Reynolds and Washington in Augusta, Georgia. (Family history says that Beckwith was soon killed, possibly in a train wreck, when their daughter Mary was an infant). On the 1880 Census Mrs. Sarah Laura Beckwith (and her daughter Mary) are living with her parents, the John S. Wright family in Augusta. Thomas Stanly Beckwith is my second brick wall. IGI says they were married at St. Paul's. but I can find no other information. Any help would be appreciated. David L.
